From hobby to hustle

In 2018, Siena was balancing Graphic Design studies at Ravensbourne University when she launched Cards by Siena. What began as a hobby — hand making cards for friends and family — soon sparked the idea of turning it into a career with her own unique designs.

Starting with just an Instagram page, orders began pouring in, and soon Siena was hand-drawing, painting, and glittering each card from her bedroom.

But as demand grew, she needed a more efficient process. In 2020, Sketched by Siena was born, with Siena switching to digital design on an iPad, creating sharper, more detailed artwork.

With her workload growing, Siena’s sister Ellie joined the team in 2020, handling the business side: marketing, printing, packaging, and organizing spreadsheets.

Now, Siena focuses on the creative side while Ellie ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. What began as a small hobby is now a thriving business, and there’s no slowing down!
